Welcome to Global Missions at the Coeur d'Alene Church of the Nazarene!
There's a world of good to do!
The mission of the Church of the Nazarene is to make "Christlike disciples in the nations."
In our local church we emphasize our global responsibility and connectedness through several activities
- We provide financial support to the global missions program through our annual contributions to the World Evangelism Fund which enables the work of over 700 missionaries in seven world regions.
- Two times per year we receive an alabaster offering which goes to build churches, clinics and schools around the world.
- Child sponsorship - 10 children are being sponsored by individuals and groups in our congregation at a cost of $300 per year. The monies enable the child to go to school with necessary clothing and supplies.
- Our Northwest District, with 70 churches, periodically sends container shipments of clothing and other humanitarian supplies to missionaries who distribute them.
- We support and encourage our own Mission Corps volunteers, John & Carol Fillmore, who are serving in Mozambique. They are partnering with African churches to channel resources to provide roofs for churches that construct their own buildings. . Our congregation contributes funding for roofs, provides food for AIDS orphans, and keeps up with developing needs.
- Many people have participated in short term Work and Witness trips to Guatemala, Bolivia, Nicaragua, and Israel. These trips provide personal insights into God's Kingdom that transcends country boundaries, cultures, and languages.
