SPRING – The Wonder of the Newness of Life

I’m sure you have noticed the gladiolas and tulips that have popped up in spite of the relentless winter type weather.  And the trees and bushes have started budding.  It sure looks like Spring!  The sign of new life is wonderful anywhere you find it.

But far more thrilling that the blades of flowers and the new leaf buds on the trees is to see the miracle of Regeneration on the countenance and in the life of a new believer in Christ Jesus.  This is the business we are in!

So many times I hear emphasis placed on the commitments that we make to Christ.  But when God does His work of Regeneration – when He gives spiritual life to an individual, the ‘lights’ go on.  A person becomes fully alive.  The visual difference is unmistakable and the result is amazing.   That’s the business that the Body of Christ is in.

Ultimately it’s not about our programs or our techniques.  It’s really not about how carefully we say things or how much we know.  It’s about what God is doing and the privilege of being a witness to His grace.  It’s about lifting Jesus up.   And each of us can do that.

Jesus said, But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself. – Jn 12:32   That was a reference to the manner in which Jesus died.  But it is all about His atoning work for each of us completed on the cross.  And when someone sees the power of the grace that flows from His heart to ours and the difference that it makes, they too will desire such transformation.  And Jesus will draw them to himself.  Let’s let it happen – Jesus is redeeming the world to Himself one heart at a time.

Someone is watching your life.  Jesus wants you and me to be faithful witnesses to the transforming power of His grace.  Let’s be available – even when we aren’t trying to.
